KOGs are Keys to Other Games. And in this instance, the game is financial in nature.

Our upcoming mobile blockchain game, KOGs: Slam!, is now in closed beta mode. But you don’t need to put your finest KOGs sets into play  —  you can stake them instead!

The art of collecting KOGs often takes a coordinated effort. Certain pieces are scarce by default, while others  —  no matter if they’re in the Common category with 100+ pieces in circulation  —  are unavailable on secondary marketplaces.

In those cases, you’re on the hunt for a willing trader. Now, willing is a key term. Some collectors grow rather fond of specific borders or 1 of 1 Ultra-Rares. But all of your hard work is about to pay off!

We’re giving you the ability to lock KOGs away for 90-day intervals to score staking rewards. This new initiative is yet another way for us to show appreciation for our beloved KOGs community.

And now that you know why we’re launching a new rewards program, let’s dive into the mechanics of how everything works …

Set Capture

Before you can claim rewards, you’ll need at least one qualifying set. And to get your qualifier all nice and tidy in a neat little package, you’re going to bundle them up inside our upcoming staking portal here on this website.

In a nutshell, you’ll assemble qualifying sets then lock them in our ecosystem to earn RFOX tokens. Staked KOGs never leave your account, and you can release them at any time (thereby canceling your staking rewards).

So, what constitutes a set and what’s the rewards structure? Details below!

1st Edition Set Definitions

Both 1st and 2nd Editions contain overlapping as well as unique sets. But we’ll break them down for you here so you know exactly what to strive for.

Across 4 categories of rarity —  Ultra-Rare, Rare, Uncommon, and Common —  token-earning 1E sets are defined as Supersets and Rainbow Sets …

Supersets

Ultra-Rare Superset

KOGs + Slammers with matching borders. If you’ve collected all 12 1st Edition Ultra-Rares available in our Royal Orange border, for example, you have an UR Superset. Here’s how they look:

Rare Superset

These are identical to the Ultra-Rare variety, but consist of NFTs falling into the Rare category. Addtional KOGs and Slammers mean Rare Supers are larger than their UR counterparts.

Uncommon Superset

Same concept as the Supersets above, just a little larger.

Common Superset

Although they fall into the least-rare category, Common Supers contain the most NFTs of any Superset type.

Rainbow Sets

Ultra-Rare KOG Rainbow Set

The same KOG in all available borders. For example, a LONELY WARRIOR Rainbow contains 12 different borders to collect

Ultra-Rare Slammer Rainbow Set

See the UR KOG Rainbow above, but swap “Slammer” for “KOG.”

Rare KOG Rainbow Set

We’re following the same trend all the way down each rarity category. Here’s what a Rare Rainbow looks like:

Rare Slammer Rainbow Set

Do you see the pattern emerging here?

Uncommon KOG Rainbow Set

Now you see it, right?

Uncommon Slammer Rainbow Set

Still following?

Common KOG Rainbow Set

Did it sink in now? Great!

Common Slammer Rainbow Set

To recap, just in case you got lost on your way down here, these sets are made of a single Common Slammer design, with matching border color and number. Purple 20 is one example.

Foil Variants

Every set listed above also has a special, truly rare counterpart. The same collection metrics apply, but substitute KOGs and Slammers for their harder-to-come by Foil versions.

Here’s a side-by-side comparison:

While Ultra-Rare KOGs and Slammers are just that, you could say their Foil variations are Ultra-Ultra-Rare.

Let’s use the Jeweled Earth 8 Ball Slammer in the above image to illustrate just how special Foil KOGs and Slammers are. The non-foil version has been minted 30 times, whereas only 4 JE 8 Ball Foils now exist.

But those figures will change if another ever emerges from a pack!

2nd Edition Set Definitions

There’s plenty of crossover from above, but let’s define the sets unique to KOGs 2E ...

Ultra-Rare Royal Superset

The addition of Gold Slammers brings a new set type to the 2nd Edition. To create a Royal Super, use the definition of a Superset from 1E, but add the Gold Slammers.

Here’s a Scorched Earth Royal Super assembled by one of our most dedicated collectors:

Set Discovery Tool

Sure, you can use the inventory tab on AtomicHub. But you can turn to a more comprehensive resource for wrangling your collection and finding all the gaps.

To see which KOGs and Slammers you have, as well as those you don’t, pay a visit to WAXplorer

WAXplorer lets you toggle filters and drill down into the specifics of your collection. Type in your WAX Cloud Wallet address  —  typically ending in “.wam”  —  to check your stash.

Also, if an NFT that's missing from your collection is up for sale, WAXplorer can send you directly to the listing.

Staking Rewards

Now that you know what the sets are and where to find them, let’s discuss the payout mechanism.

Every staked set, so long as it stays locked for 90 days, earns a pre-defined amount of RFOX tokens.

The more sets you stake, the more RFOX you earn  —  simple as that!

Let's look at some example payouts by giving you both ends of the spectrum ...

Ultra-Rare Supersets will earn roughly $30 apiece at the end of 90 days. Got a Foil Super? You can expect 10x the payout for those!

On the lower end, Common KOG Rainbows earn roughly $1.50 per 90 days.

In between the highs and lows are the all-Slammer sets, which earn 3x the value of their KOG equivalent.

Here are the precise staking figures for qualifying KOGs sets:

Rewards Periods

We’re targeting a release date of Jan. 31 before 11:59 pm GMT. And if you can't complete your sets in time, we'll open the staking window once more towards the end of February.

All said and done, we aim to issue the equivalent of U.S. $100,000 in the form of RFOX tokens. Bear in mind that the price of RFOX tokens is in constant flux, and the rewards value may end up higher or lower. Nevertheless, we've earmarked 4M RFOX for all the KOGs set-holders out there.
